I'm taking on the Ugandan International Marathon so please help me raise £1500 to fund local community projects and War Child!

I will be running my 1st Marathon ( 26.2 miles) in beautiful Uganda raising money for War Child and local Ugandan community projects.

My fundraising is being split 50:50.

50% is going to the local rural communities in Uganda where the marathon is taking place. This will go to fund the building of schools, sanitation facilties and medical treatments. The projects I will be supporting in Uganda are:

1. Kitovu Mobile - Masaka - The one that the connects communities with the land! We’re working closely with rural communities to teach sustainable farming skills and increase household incomes. Breakthrough empowerment at a grassroots level.

2. Knowledge for Children - Masaka - The one that gets kids reading! We’re working to improve education in the region by supplying books & library facilities, teacher training and increasing literacy. The goal is 60 schools fully equipped this year.

3. Kiyumbakimu Children's Village - The one that is full of love! Bring joy and a future into the lives of homeless children; they live in a wonderful home environment where they can feel safe and secure. Words can’t do it justice.

4. Masaka Deaf School - The one that talks through the silence! Here we help 70 children a year gain the ability to communicate through sign language. Break down the barriers for deaf in Uganda society. Our staff have an amazing time here.

50% is going to War Child, a charity that helps empower children in areas of conflict including Syria, Afghanistan and the Congo.

All fundraising is being processed by the Shauku Foundation, who pass on the money to the causes with zero admin fees.

If you are a UK taxpayer, please claim giftaid to increase the value of your donation by 25%.

All donations are greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Manisha
