Kenya Community Volunteering

Adventure from £0.00 (Excluding flights)

We believe everybody deserves the opportunity to decide who they are, what they want to become, and how to take control of their own lives. Every child, no matter where they come from, has the potential within them to achieve something great.

We believe that, by building something sustainable that focuses on investing in people & creating opportunities, we are able to make a real, long-lasting change that’ll give our kids a chance to change their lives forever. We don't want to just provide food, a bed and a few text books - this is fixing the symptoms of poverty, not the causes. We want to invest in Kenya, build something sustainable and create economic growth to make a real, lasting difference. All they need is a chance at life and an opportunity.

Opportunities we take for granted - opportunities you can help them get.

Our mission is for our children to live lives that are creative, productive and free from poverty. In order for this to become a reality, it is essential that there are the right resources available. This is why our ‘Centre of Excellence’ is vital, as it will provide our children with modern housing, education, sanitation and, most importantly, enough safety to live comfortably and happily.

The land also has space for farming to begin, meaning that our children can learn to grow crops, care for livestock, eat well and sell the excess at the local marketplace. This is part of our greater mission - to make the Centre completely self-sustainable.

This is how to truly make a lasting difference.

How we do it:

1. Use the land to grow crops, create jobs and produce an income for the project, so the Centre can become self-sustainable. This will allow the school to become self-sufficient in regards to food, income and livelihood. It also frees up more donations to be used for projects and improving the quality of life.

2. To teach the students, teachers, staff and locals in ways that enable them to grow individually, and as a community. Changing the mindset of our students is imperative. Inspiring them to think differently, to challenge themselves and aspire to greater things is the key to achieving success. As the ripples of this move outwards, a real change can be made to the local communities, and it is our hope that this will generally improve the quality of life for all in the surrounding area.

3. To bring volunteers into the school and work with them to continue improving the project. Everyone has his or her own skills and passions to bring to the project. From engineers and builders who can tweak designs and make them more efficient, to bankers, teachers and lawyers who can teach the fundamental things that will make huge differences to our students’ lives, volunteers can make the most lasting contributions.

Number 2 and 3 are where YOU come in. You will have passions, experiences and skills that no one else on the team has, and that makes you unique. That makes you a key player in what we are trying to achieve. There is no 'maybe' – You will change the children's lives forever!

Throughout your trip you will have countless opportunities to meet like-minded individuals, to mastermind and explore, contribute, create new experiences and connect with both the team and local communities – but most importantly of all:

Make lasting CHANGE

Everything you do will have a lasting effect on everyone you meet, especially our children who rely on us for their food, education and support. This trip really is an amazing opportunity to make a lasting difference, learn about different cultures and understand what life in Kenya really is like.
